The following are copies of correspondence written throughout the 40 years between 1859
until Robert Dunne's death in 1900, mainly from Robert's step-father in Ireland, but also
some from Robert himself to his cousin in the USA. The four letters written after Robert's
death are from his son Henry to the uncle. They provide an interesting insight into the
family's daily existence in Drogheda, George Rafferty's relationship with his step-son
and his views on Robert's deeds, both military and financial.
